Door to Door for Google

Google is looking for people to go from business to business to collect information for Google Maps, and they’ll pay $10 for every company you talk to. The Humboldt County Chamber of Commerce has over 200 members. How many other local businesses aren’t members? Think of the money you could make just walking around town and talking to people.

No selling required.

Chemical Spills Forces Evacuation of Rest Stop

Associated Press:

A leaking truckload of corrosive fluid forced the evacuation Tuesday of an Interstate 80 rest stop near Winnemucca, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. No injuries were reported.

NHP Trooper Chuck Allen said about 25 to 30 gallons of ferric chloride spilled from a trailer transporting about 3,500 gallons of the material from Tacoma, Wash., to Burlington Environmental Inc. in Fernley.

The trucker had parked near the entrance to the rest stop 18 miles west of Winnemucca and called authorities after noticing the leak. Because there’s only one road into the rest stop, two dozen travelers at the stop had to evacuate on foot through the rear of the area and were taken by bus to Winnemucca.

Free Bunny to Good Home

Speaking of bunnies (see previous post), another Craigslist ad has a free bunny to a good home:

Darling black and white male bunny. Our two males are not getting along anymore and we can’t keep them both. He’s 5 month old and weighs 3 lbs. Very friendly and outgoing. He’s a houserabbit and is well behaved in the house (no cord chewing or digging). Please come and get him.

Photo by tiny banquet committee and may not be representative of actual bunny.

Also, we are going from the Sacramento area to Winnemucca/Battle Mountain on Wednesday or Thursday along I-80. We could do pick ups or drop offs on the way out too. Same deal, $20.
